I love masks! Face masks are a nice way of treating your skin and giving it the extra nourishment it deserves. The use of facial masks may help you with any skin trouble from pimples, having dry skin, oily skin or even dull skin. Masks can greatly help you achieve a better complexion.
Maybe you have heard about the craze about Skin Food's Black Sugar Mask or you may have read it in my Korean skincare routine so now, I finally have another jar of this sweet treat and I'm happy to share my experience with you guys.
Ingredients:
Sucrose, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Glycerin, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candella) Wax, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Lanolin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Stearalkonium Hectorite, Butyrospermum Parkll (Shea Butter), Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil, Sorbitan Laurate, Butylparaben, BHT, Caramel, Parfum
This mask is made with black sugar with some essential oil coming from macadamia and shea butter.
It may come off as something which is very abrasive because of sugar but actually the sugar in it is fine and thus there is little irritation given that your skin is still damp. As you massage it on your skin, the sugar dissolves easily which I like so that your skin will not become hypersensitive.
The packaging is very simple and it has that vintage-y feel to it. As you can see the mask is almost solid but don't worry, once it gets contact with water, its going to be all good.
Verdict:
I really like it because it can really exfoliate your skin without leaving it dry. The sugar dissolves easily and after using it, you can really feel that your skin is much softer and brighter.
Pros:
-exfoliating
-non-drying
-skin is brighter
Cons:
-I'm not a fan of its lemon-y smell
-it can irritate acne-prone skin because of sugar
-it doesn't come with a spatula
Nonetheless, even it has 3 cons, I would still really repurchase it!
